(Not Really) Secrets of the Trade: Covers, Part Five – Wrapping Up

Tent and the Milky Way

I honestly can’t think of any other major topics suitable for an in-depth blog post on covers, so I’ll use this one to wrap it up and share some new images.  If anyone wants to know something that I didn’t cover, please feel free to comment.  I’m happy to answer or do another blog post on it.

So, what’s coming up in the world of Leah Ross Books?

The photo above is the background that I chose for the cover of my next Firebend book, Geared-up for Adventure.  I did the cover last week, and I’m already two chapters into writing it.  It’s going to be a fun one.  I’m not ready to reveal the cover just yet (I’ll save that for closer to the book’s release), but here are the other images I chose for it:

I’m excited to dive back into the world of Firebend for a while.  That series is a little less complex than my fantasy stories and the writing tends to go a bit quicker.

And, speaking of my complicated fantasy series, I’m putting the finishing touches on The Pirate Prince.  I’ll post up the release announcement on that one in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for reading about how I go about creating covers for my books.  I hope that someone found the posts useful.  Questions and comments are always welcome!
